Dear Champion for Children,
On behalf of the Region A Partnership for Children, I would like to thank you, for your dedication and service to children and families throughout the years! We are reaching out to you during this time as we start to see signs of life coming back to our beautiful mountains again because young children and their families need you to Spring into Action!
The Region A Partnership for Children is your community partner that provides opportunities during the earliest years of life for each child to grow, learn, bloom and flourish.
Your financial gift during this Region A Partnership for Children Annual Campaign is the sustaining force that will help us keep our work in the region blooming and growing throughout the coming year and beyond. Together We Bloom and Grow!
It is because of your willingness to champion the work for children that makes the difference in the First 2000 Days in the life of each child that we are able to create opportunities for lifelong success for the children of our far western counties.
With the help of our community partners, like you, we have expanded our service to children and families this year. We are now seeing more children in the waiting rooms of doctors’ offices for well child check-ups where children get to take home free books. Through Smart Start, over 1,400 children in the far western counties have already received Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library books in their mailboxes as of February, 2018, and with your help we can reach more children with this wonderful program.
Last year, children in our region received over 23,000 free books and high quality reading materials
through Smart Start and other Region A Partnership for Children programs!
The parents and caregivers whom we see each day tell us that they read more to their kids, understand more about child development and have success in setting goals for their families to achieve greater stability.
“Our Smart Start and NC Pre-K partners understand that lifelong preparation and school readiness begin with prenatal support and continue throughout childhood.”
The Region A Partnership for Children addresses this reality early, through a variety of programs that focus on parent education, family support and stability, child health, development and learning, help for children with special needs and early reading and school readiness. Smart Start and NC Pre-K raise childcare quality standards for all children through professional development and financial support for teachers.
Thank you for your commitment to children and support for our mission!
Sincerely,
Mary Otto Selzer, Board Chair
