Region A Partnership for Children, a partner in the Smart Start Network, and Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library (DPIL) are working together with community partners to get books into the homes of our youngest children in the far western counties of North Carolina.

 

The mission of the program is to foster a love of reading in preschool children and ensure that every child born has specially selected books, regardless of their family’s income, delivered straight to their home. Children enrolled receive a book every month at no cost to the family until their fifth birthday. Children in Cherokee, Clay, Graham, Haywood, Jackson, Macon and Swain Counties are eligible to enroll and receive a free book each month through the Region A Partnership for Children Smart Start program. Families can find out about availability of the program in their zip code and enroll their children at Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library.
